Asakusa Kodomo Kabuki Matsuri

The Asakusa Kodomo Kabuki Matsuri, literally meaning "the Children's Kabuki Festival," is held in March at Asakusa Shrine adjoining Sensoji Temple. It invites several kabuki theater groups from around the Kanto region, an area composed of prefectures around Tokyo. It is held for several days around weekends, and each group performs a short kabuki theater twice a day in one of these days during this period.
