Shitamachi Museum
Shitamachi Museum (Shitamachi Fuzoku Shiryokan, 下町風俗資料館) is a small public museum located in Ueno Park focusing on Shitamachi culture.
Shitamachi culture is, in short, the culture of ordinary citizens of the town of Edo and its successor Tokyo. The culture is now perceived as nostalgic, though traces of the culture still remain. For details, read the explanation of the museum.
Taito-ku (Taito City) is regarded as a typical Shitamachi district, so it's no wonder it holds a museum about the culture. The museum displays the lifestyles of ordinary citizens which are now gone. You can take photos of them freely.
