This site was constructed in 1884 as the second house of a former feudal domain lord. Usually you can only walk around the inside of its buildings, but on the 10th day of each month you can also walk around the half-Japanese-half-western garden and observe the buildings from outside.

This place was the residence of a family who started producing soy sauce in 1661 which later evolved to one of the companies which would eventually be merged into soy sauce maker Kikkoman in modern times.

This Taisho-era mansion, now used as citizens' meeting facility, was the residence of another family who started soy sauce production in 1766 (they had been producing miso soybean paste until then) which later developed to one of the companies merged into Kikkoman Cooperation.
