Komyoji Temple
Komyoji (光明寺) is a Jodo Buddhist (aka Pure land Buddhist) Temple which is a 5-minute walk from Tokyu Tamagawa Line Shimomaruko Station. It is said that it was founded in the early 9th century and was converted to a Jodo Buddhist temple in 1229.
The Amidado on the right hand side was completed in 1838.
The Hondo, or the main hall, was constructed in 1930.
The Kuri adjoining the Hondo is the residential building of the priest family.
On the back side of the Mieido, there're a modern Japanese garden and a pretty large octagonal building, along with a graveyard.
