Honkoji
Honkoji (本光寺) is a Nichiren Buddhist temple in Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo and is a 2-minute walk from Keikyu Line Shinbaba Station.
When it was exactly established is unknown, but at first it was a Shingon Buddhist temple and was converted into a Nichiren Buddhist one in 1382.
In the temple precincts, there are a three-story pagoda and a tahoto-style pagoda, both of which are relatively new and not so large but made of wood.
The Sanmon is the front gate.
This wooden, rather small tahoto-style pagoda was erected in 1985.
The Hondo is the main building. It was constructed in 1968 with concrete.
Kyakuden is the guest house.
This Sanju-no-to, or the three-story-pagoda, was also created in 1985.
